Wrestling v. Michigan, Cael Sanderson

Penn State Head Coach Cael Sanderson watches a bout during a match against Michigan at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019. Penn State won the match 25-11.

Penn State has a long history of producing wrestlers that excel on the international stage long after their time donning blue and white singlets ends.

The Nittany Lions have produced several Olympians, most recently former NCAA champion Frank Molinaro, and now, after a long period of speculation, Penn State was officially named as the host for the 2020 Olympic Trials.

The official announcement, which was first reported by FloWrestling, comes after former Penn State wrestler David Taylor hinted at an alumni event that Penn State and the Bryce Jordan Center were likely going to be the hosts of the trials.

The trials will take place April 4-5, 2020 and it's likely that several former and possibly some current Nittany Lions will be competing in front of the Penn State faithful one more time.
