Former Penn State setter Abby Detering has landed an assistant coach spot on the Kent State coaching staff under coach Don Gromala after two years of professional play in Europe.
“I am honored to work with the staff and talented group of women, and look forward to a fun, competitive season,” Detering said in Kent State's press release.
The Ohio native spent two years at Penn State after transferring from Florida. She earned honorable mention All-American honors her senior year after helping lead the team to a 33-2 record and a Final Four appearance in 2017.
Her role will be focused on working and developing on the offense and setting of the Golden Flashes, continuing her successful lineage playing in both positions.
