The State College Borough Water Authority released a public service announcement on Monday announcing its plans to begin flushing water mains on March 20 to "ensure high quality water."
The flushing will last about seven months and will occur between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., the release said. The process will begin in Boalsburg.
The flushing may cause slight discoloration of the water, which is not harmful. Individuals can flush the faucets until the "water runs clear," according to the State College Borough Water Authority.
