The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced it will resume road work on the Atherton Street project on Monday, according to a release. The road work will stretch from Curtin Road to Westerly Parkway.
From Monday to Thursday "crews will be saw-cutting" on Atherton Street between College Avenue and Beaver Avenue. There will be signage and flaggers when needed to control traffic, the release said.
According to the release, "traffic will be reduced to one lane in both the eastbound and westbound directions."
A waterline installation is scheduled to begin and will last for 60 hours on March 7, the release said. There will be a detour during this period on Atherton Street between College Avenue and Beaver Avenue.
The Atherton Street project is scheduled to be completed in fall 2024.
This project includes work on "roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements (including pipes and inlets, water and sewer lines), concrete curbing, sidewalks and detectable warning surfaces, pavement markings, traffic signals and supports," according to the release.
