No socials registered by the Interfraternity Council or Panhellenic Council will take place over this upcoming Arts Fest weekend, according to a joint statement from the councils' executive boards.
Further, no registered socials will be approved until the beginning of the fall 2019 semester. The IFC and Panhellenic Council executive boards voiced support for the university and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Compliance's event process, via the release.
Anticipating high attendance from students and alumni during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts — spanning from Wednesday through Sunday — the executive boards said they "expect [their] members to give the utmost respect to the State College community."
Both executive boards concurred that the decision will "result in both a smart and safe" rest of the summer break.
