America's Next Top Model fanatics rejoice: Cycle 10 is here!

February 20th marked the return of a fashion lover's dream: a house full of backstabbing, over-emotional, way too skinny but insanely gorgeous girls battling it out for a chance to strut down a runway in some over-the-top couture concoction. Whew ... some things never get old. This time around there are some changes though.

Fashion legend and iconic model Twiggy has been replaced with Czech supermodel Paulina Porizkova. The judge has graced the covers of Playboy, Sports Illustrated, Vogue and Life and wrote the novel A Model Summer.

The show has moved back to the America's fashion capital in New York City, and the girls got another huge surprise: Tyra and the judges decided the girls had so much potential that cycle 10 would add one more model wannabe, Dominique, as a 14th contestant.

Speaking of fierce reality TV, the final collections of Sweet P, Chris, Jillian, Rami, and Christian from Project Runway were shown at Fashion Week in New York. Posh Spice (Mrs. Beckham herself) appeared as a guest judge at the show in The Tent in Bryant Park.

Update on an old-school style

Some things don't change because they don't have to.
But who knew a 1917's basketball sneaker would eventually produce a high-fashion line of shoes and clothing?
Converse has joined high-end designers like Jovovich-Hawk and Isaac Mizrahi by collaborating with Target stores to offer a line of clothing and footwear for men, women, and children.
The One Star line mixes a classic Converse athletic look with vintage-inspired fabrics and silhouettes.
The result? Traditional athletic pieces that received one serious makeover for the 21st century.
Despite the absolute perfection of a simple pair on low-top Converse, this fem spin on this classic really does improve upon the look.
However, despite the change, Converse still maintains its classic, casual, and sporty feel without going towards frilly to get feminine.
Slam dunk.

Not your dad's Chuck Taylor: the One Star Skimmers ($29.99 at target.com).

Green is in this season

Forget red. The new color of love is green. Many designers are tying the knot between their love for fashion and for the planet Earth.

This union between the two does should not come as a surprise. Even car companies like Cadillac making their monster SUVs more eco-friendly (i.e. the hybrid Escalade given to Giants quarterback Eli Manning after his Super Bowl win...WOO!) are showing their love to planet. Fashion just found a way to make it fabulous and earth-loving.

Saks Fifth Avenue has launched a new line called Green House in an effort to promote eco-friendly style. However, this is no granola muncher's line. Saks has managed to maintain the chic style it has become epitomized for with a more Earth-conscious form of production.
Green House has expanded to multiple areas of fashion and beauty. It has both a women and men's line, a beauty line, and a line of accessories to go with your eco-friendly look.

A tree never looked so fierce: This Beau Soleil Bamboo Halter Dress ($275, saksfifthavenue.com) is definitely high on style.

The guys are not left too far behind.

For the globally conscious stylish ''fella" this Loomstate Organic Cotton Military Jacket ($300, saksfifthavenue.com) will definitely have plenty of salutes.

Surf's up

The Sun. The Sand. The Surf. The Apparel.

It seems ridiculous to say that surf culture has had an influence on fashion. But it's undeniable. The ripped up, loose fitting, colorful and laidback style is evident in everything from Ugg boots (designed for surf culture) to pre-ripped jeans. Companies like Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, and PacSun survive off the mass-appeal of being a beach bum.

Now smush together a longboard, a woodie, some rashguards, a left carve, and easy online ordering and tracking and what do you get? Swell.com.

Swell carries a collection of airy tops, colorful dresses, chill tees, and surfwear from all the top surfing companies.

If you like a little more edge to your surf, then Nikita is just up the pipeline. With fashions for surfers and snowboarders, Nikita offers a bit more variety, which is great for covering both cold and warm weather.

Nikita serves a full taste of pattern and flair with a little urban edge. (Nikitaclothing.com)
