I'm a cardigan girl
I'm a cardigan girl. I can't help it. It's hard for me to hide my conservatism. But I truly believe that one of the most classic (though possibly boring) items of clothing ever is also the most genius. My love for a good cardigan stems from the fact that it cleans up any outfit. Throwing on a cardigan over a t-shirt makes me feel like I am hiding from the world the fact that I rolled out of bed and went to class. Best hoodie-alternative ever, I swear.
So, you can imagine my glee when this fall, cardigans are more prevalent than ever. What's even better? They've gotten a total facelift. Well, maybe not a facelift -- they are just cardigans -- but a good shot of Botox at the very least. Totally dressed up and updated, my wardrobe must-have is shedding some of its standard boringness and turning to more high-fashion looks. New lines, shapes, bright colors, patterns, and oversized buttons have actually managed to make cardigans exciting. Determined to add to my collection of staple sweaters, I've scoped out some of the best.
Lila Plaid Sweater from Delia's, $44.50

Hooded Button Cardigan by Tulle, $53
Literally, a hoodie alternative. I love the oversized button and curved cut of this sweater, and the color is perfect.

Floral Scoop Cardigan by Free People, $98
A little pricey for a short-sleeved cardigan, but I love the color and heavier button strip.
Lux Ribbed Cardigan at Urban Outfitters, $48
The ribbing on this cardigan gives it just enough structure to look really clean, and I love the front pockets!

This striped men's cardigan makes a perfect oversized, slouchy sweater for the girls. At almost 60 percent off, you can't lose!
