Grey's Anatomy (Sept. 27 on ABC)
In this drama focused on the life of surgical intern Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), relationships and competitiveness between her and the other interns keep the tension, as well as the drama, high.
This season, watch for a new character to challenge McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey), more screen time for McSteamy (Eric Dane) and Meredith's half sister to join the interns. Oh, and watch for the deer.
The Office (Sept. 27 on NBC)
Completely clueless boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell) is at it again this season continuing to make life at Dunder Mifflin awkward. However, Jim finally asked Pam on a date, which should be coming in the next episodes as well as a backlash from his current girlfriend Karen. Dwight will continue to provide laughs.
Desperate Housewives (Sept. 30 on ABC)
Wisteria Lanes cooks up another batch of drama this season as new characters come into play. Among the contenders for the most confrontation is a gay couple that moves in next to Susan (Teri Hatcher).
This season there may also be a musical episode (huh?) as well as the possibility of the death of a major character, creator Mark Cherry said.
Heroes (Sept. 24 on NBC)
In this fast paced X-Men-esque drama, ordinary people find out they have special powers and realize they must band together to save the world from the evil Sylar (Zachary Quinto). High school cheerleader Claire (Hayden Panettiere) can heal herself, potential senator Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) can fly and Hiro (Masi Oka), a Japanese office worker, can bend time.
This season, watch for new characters to surface as well as more back-stories to last season's characters. Also, keep a lookout for Claire's new superpowered love interest.
Boston Legal (Sept. 25 on ABC)
This spin-off of The Practice focuses on the world of civil litigation. Possibly senile Denny Crane (William Shatner) runs the law firm while the other partners try to keep him from doing anything stupid.
With the help of Crane, attorney Alan Shore (James Spader) has become a successful civil lawyer, sometimes using unpopular or dishonest methods to win the case.
30 Rock (Oct. 4 on NBC)
After breaking up with her boyfriend last season, sketch show writer Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) deals with her personal problems, her off-the-wall boss (Alec Baldwin) and tries to keep tabs on the unpredictable actor Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan).
