The UPUA Internal Development Committee approved Chief of Staff Dustin Dove as head elections commissioner and reviewed the elections code for the 2011 UPUA Election, which is tentatively scheduled for March 30.
Though Dove’s involvement on last year’s University Park Undergraduate Association Elections Commission was at dispute during his nomination as chief of staff, UPUA Chairwoman of the Assembly Jessica Pelliciotta (senior-political science) said she had no problem with Dove
(senior-secondary education and political science) being nominated as head election commissioner at Thursday night’s meeting.

The UPUA Internal Development Committee unanimously approved Dustin Dove as a nominee for President Christian Ragland’s chief of staff Tuesday night — three months after the UPUA assembly voted to censure Ragland for attempting to appoint Dove to the same position.
The General Assembly will make the final decision regarding the chief of staff position at the University Park Undergraduate Association meeting tonight.
In October, the UPUA assembly censured Ragland (senior-political science) after some members expressed discomfort with how Dove obtained the chief of staff position. Under the UPUA constitution, Dove (senior-secondary education and political science) was not eligible to be chief of staff because he worked as an elections commissioner last spring.
