Scrappy. That's the only way Penn State women's volleyball coach Russ Rose could describe his team's defense Friday night in its 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-16, 25-17) of No. 7 Minnesota in Rec Hall.

PSU shuts out Buckeyes

In the final set of the Penn State women's volleyball team's match against Ohio State Wednesday night, the Nittany Lions found themselves facing a tied score of 20-20.

Brown much-improved against Buckeyes

Early in the first set, Cathy Quilico dug a laser Ohio State kill up into the air. Blair Brown took off from the ground, skied above the net and smashed the ball into the back left corner of the Ohio State side.

PSU services begin to see improvements

In the midst of a 22-0 start to the season and an undefeated streak that currently spans an NCAA-record 86 games, the Penn State women's volleyball team has been the model of consistency.

Team returns home, sweeps

Following a Penn State kill, defensive specialist Cathy Quilico toed the service line and sent a serve that couldn't be handled by the Purdue defender waiting on the other side.

With the Penn State women's volleyball team one point from victory on Saturday, Fatima Balza and Alisha Glass skyed for a block, sending the bench into its final dance party of the evening.

Bench to see rise in action

Russ Rose made it clear that finding playing time for everyone on the Penn State women's volleyball team's roster is not in his job description.

It could have been the perfect trap game for the Penn State women's volleyball team: A matchup with struggling Michigan State one night after the Nittany Lions' closest game of the season.
