Penn State loses to USC in NCAA semifinal

With Penn State facing six match points, redshirt freshman Joe Sunder pounded a kill into the floor, giving the Nittany Lions life. But with Sunder serving the next point, USC's Austin Zahn bounced an attack off the Lions' defense and into the stands, ending Penn State's hopes of repeating as national champions. Updated 11:10 AM

As the Penn State men's volleyball team embarks on its defense of its national title, there's only one thing that can bring the Penn State volleyball dynasty to an end.

Senior Sweitzer's commitment paying dividends

Ryan Sweitzer always had the potential. In high school he played on a club team that "wasn't great," but Penn State coach Mark Pavlik and then-assistant coach Dennis Hohenshelt saw what Sweitzer could become.

Price makes smooth transition to outside hitter

Early last week, junior Will Price said he was fired up for that weekend's matchups against Ball State and Ohio State.

Rally shows progress of volleyball team

Despite winning a national championship last year and clinching the EIVA regular season crown this season, the Penn State men's volleyball team managed to do something it hadn't done this season -- rally from a late deficit to win.

Penn State beats NJIT, clinches EIVA title

When an NJIT attack error secured victory for Penn State, there wasn't much of a celebration. The Penn State men's volleyball team swept NJIT Saturday night 3-0 (30-17, 30-20, 30-10), clinching the EIVA regular season title for the Nittany Lions.
