Former Penn State President George Atherton is rumored to haunt Schwab Auditorium, where Penn State Thespians members have seen apparitions resembling people from Atherton's era.

The Old Botany Building is rumored to be haunted by the late Mrs. Atherton The Paranormal Research Society's founder Ryan Buell said he has received claims of ghost sightings in the Pattee Library. A certified ghost hunter speaks to a spirit she said she found in Old Botany. Schwab Auditorium has a long history of ghost sightings; however, the Penn State Paranormal Research Society has found no strong evidence for activity there.
