Electronic Frontier Foundation
Home of the Blue Ribbon campaign, The Electronic Frontier Foundation is a non-profit civil liberties organization working in the public interest to protect privacy, free expression, and access to public resources and information online, as well as to promote responsibility in new media.

Poynter Institute for Media Studies
The Poynter Institute is a school dedicated to teaching and inspiring journalists and media leaders. It stands for a journalism that informs citizens and enlightens public discourse.

Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication
Located at the University of South Carolina, AEJMC exists to promote the highest possible standards for education in journalism and mass communication.

Internet Advertising Bureau
IAB says it is "the first global association devoted exclusively to maximizing the use and effectiveness of advertising on the Internet. IAB is one of the organizations developing standard banner sizes for Web advertising."

* Newspaper Association of America
NAA is a nonprofit organization focusing on five key strategic priorities that collectively affect the newspaper industry: marketing, public policy, diversity, industry development and newspaper operations.

* Pennsylvania Newspaper Association
Trade organization for Pennsylvania newspapers, provides representation in the legislature, educational services and acts as an information clearinghouse. Formerly the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers' Association (PNPA) until 1998. Wants to be known as Pennsylvania Newspapers rather than PNA (obviously no headline writers were consulted).

* The Society of Professional Journalists
SPJ is a not-for-profit organization of 13,500 journalists dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism; stimulating high standards of ethical behavior; and perpetuating a free press.
