Organizations telling members to come to THON earlier than planned
Organizations are warning their members to come to the Bryce Jordan Center earlier than planned because of problems with the arena getting to “capacity” for the finale before the 8 a.m. cut off.
THON’s Public Relations committee said as of now there is no set closing time at the gates.
Alicia Williams, a member of Fayette, said her organization was told to arrive at 7 a.m. for the finale. Now, they’re sending out texts telling people to come “ASAP.”
Williams said she has some worry about people from her organization not getting in, but pointed out that “people are always leaving.”
She said she hoped her fellow members are close to the front of the line because she thinks they’ll close the doors before 8 a.m.
Melissa Belack, an Omega Phi Alpha pledge, said she was told to be at the BJC at 1 a.m., but they told people to come even earlier. She said there’s worry within her sorority that some people won’t get in because of the restrictions.
Liam O'Brien, a member of Penn State’s Irish Society, said his organization also telling its members to come as soon as they can.
He said some members of the Irish Society decided to stay after the Pep Rally because there was worry that they wouldn’t be able to get back in.
"There's a possibility no one else will get in now," O'Brien said.
