Yo-yos, tennis balls help pass time at THON
Walking in the Bryce Jordan Center concourse during THON, it is likely you will take note of bouncing tennis balls and glittered yo-yos.
Jamiyah Bethune (freshman-athletic training), a member of Women's Club Basketball, said people out in the concourse are occupying their time with yo-yos, puzzles, improvising basketball games and even making up their own dances.
"I want a tennis ball. Do you have one?" Victor Alofe (freshman-division of undergraduate studies) asked as Bethune dribbled her tennis ball.
Though Alofe is not directly involved with THON, he is a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. A first-time attendee, he said that "no one seems tired."
"The fact that people are still here after like 12 hours is impressive," Alofe said.
"It doesn't seem like it's going to slow down any time soon."
