THON pep rally keeps BJC atmosphere energetic
As tradition dictates, members of multiple Penn State athletic teams took the stage during THON to show off their moves in the annual pep rally.
Dressed in neon, snapback hats and other clothing, the Penn State teams showed their support for the Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.
The theme for the pep rally was Together We Are One, and the teams squared off against each other in dance competitions. Determined by the crowd, the men's swimming team won the hearts of the crown and was deemed this year's champions.
Following the dance contest, the Penn State Blue Band played Penn State fight songs to keep the dancers awake and the Bryce Jordan Center's atmosphere energetic.
"The pep rally kept us going," dancer Nick Behmke (senior-finance) said. "It's been a long night, and as we get closer, the pep rally kept us from wanting to fall asleep."
