THON outfits dazzle, done with kids in mind

Every year, the outfits of THON dazzle with colorful patterns and a unique silly-ness, all done with Four Diamonds children in mind.

Sean McCray, a sophomore in the Theta Chi fraternity, says his fraternity's camo THON shirts were designed by their THON child.

"He really likes camo," McCray said. "And originally, we had jungle camouflage but he ended up deciding he wanted us wearing black and white instead."

Nick Tewell, a senior criminal justice major from the Fayette campus, also has the kids on his mind.

Tewell, along with several of his other friends, decided to dress as superheroes for the event, with Tewell playing the signature role of Spiderman.

"We figured kids love super heroes, and THON is all about the kids, so we thought it was appropriate." Tewell said.

Others have dressed up in honor of their organization captains.

Throughout the BJC, the OPPerations Organization members are wearing bunny ears and sun glasses with the words "Benergizer Bunnies" written on them.

"All the captains have slogans that sort of make fun of their names," Ben Dodge said. Dodge is a captain of an OPPerations committee.

"We want to be up and energized to keep the BJC in order," Dodge said.
