Organizations sport decorative letters

Organizations have made jumbo letters to hold up throughout the weekend to make sure they can be easily spotted in the Bryce Jordan Center.

Community service organization Boulevard, located near section 117, has even added LED lights to make sure they can be spotted everywhere. Taylor Maher, member of Boulevard, said that the group really wanted something special this year since this is their second year as an organization.

"We wanted to show a lot of support for our THON family and let them know we were here for them," Maher (junior-chemical engineering) said.

A couple members of Boulevard have spent the past couple days making the letters, he said. They then attached the letters and made sure they had back up batteries for the weekend, he said.

Alpha Omicron Pi and Sigma Chi THON, located by section 122, is also easy to spot with their big green and light blue letters made of out insulation, Maddie Tauber said.

The letters are made out of insulation they bought at Home Depot and are splatter painted on one side while solid on the other. The group wanted to be creative and make letters that would match their shirts, Tauber (sophomore-journalism) said. It took three hours just to draw and cut them out an another couple hours to paint, she said.
