Municipal building sees break in day
At 3:00 p.m. at the State College Borough Municipal Building on 243 S. Allen Street, the election staff was taking a brief break between the rush of the voters that have been coming in all day.
Peggy Brown, Judge of Elections, said it has been busy all day. So far 525 voters have come through the municipal building, Brown said.
The team has been at the municipal building since 6 a.m. and will be there until after the poll closes at 8 p.m.
Matt Conway (senior-aerospace engineering) said he has always wanted to vote and was not able to last time. He said it's a shame that people complain about the responsibility since “it’s how the country works.”
“It affects everybody. [I] might as well get my voice out when I can. [It is] one of the only chance for students to do so,” Shawn Vengoechea (junior-communications) said.
Kathryn Black said she was excited to be able to be a factor in the election.
“It is a big deal to have my say and do my part,” Black (junior- international politics) said.
