Shannon Yoxheimer named CHA Rookie of the Month

Shannon Yoxheimer, Penn State's leader in goals and points, was named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Month for November on Tuesday. She was also nominated for Player of the Month honors, which ultimately went to Rebecca Vint of Robert Morris.
Yoxheimer, a forward from Jackson, Mich., put together a scoring streak of seven games before it was snapped on Nov. 11 against Robert Morris. During the month, she scored four goals and tallied five assists. She recorded a point in four of the Nittany Lions' six games in November.
Yoxheimer's 10 goals are well ahead of the Lions' second-leader scorer, Taylor Gross (4). Her eight assists are tied with Jess Desorcie for second on the team, trailing only Gross, who has 11.
In the CHA, Yoxheimer is third in goals and leads the conference in shots (89). Only members of the high-scoring Mercyhurst Lakers are ahead of her on the conference leaderboard for points.
