Lions defeated by Robert Morris University

The Penn State men's hockey team (7-8-0) was defeated by Robert Morris University (7-4-2), 3-2, Saturday night at the Greenberg Ice Pavilion.

RMU's Chase Golightly began the scoring at 12:07 of the first period.with a assist from freshman forward Zac Lynch, to lead the game 1-0. The RMU freshman defenseman played in eight games before Saturday's and is ranked tenth in points for his team with two (one goal, one assist).

Penn State ended the first period leading in shots, 12-7, but couldn't manage to capitalize on them until the beginning of the second.

The Nittany Lions opened the period with two quick goals to lead the game 2-1. The first was scored by Tommy Olczyk at 1:33. It was the sophomore forward's third of season and was assisted by Luke Juha and Brian Dolan.

A little less than two minutes later, Curtis Loik scored through the five-hole with an assist from David Glen.

RMU managed to tie the game at 2-2 with 6:49 left in the second with a goal from Jeff Jones. The sophomore forward is ranked fifth amongst his team in points with nine and the goal was his second of the season.

In the final period, RMU broke the tie with a goal at 13:11 from senior defenseman Tyler Hinds, to end the game, 3-2.

The Lions have a 13-day break on their schedule before they play on Dec. 28 and 29 in the Three Rivers Classic at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, where they will have another match-up against the Colonials.
