It’s Monday afternoon, do you know what that means?
It means another Penn State men’s volleyball player have been named EIVA Offensive Player of the Week.
This week the award goes to junior opposite Tom Comfort, who rejoined the starting lineup over the weekend in place of Nick Goodell who missed the BYU trip due to an injured shoulder.
While redshirt senior Joe Sunder struggled, Comfort stepped up to keep the No. 7 Nittany Lions competitive in both matches against the No. 4 Cougars. On Friday night, he led the team in kills with 17 on .333 hitting. Saturday night, Comfort had nine kills, two assists and two aces on .278 hitting.
Comfort’s award, his first this season and third of his career, makes him the sixth different Penn State player to claim the award this season. It’s the eighth time overall a player has won the award.
