Penn State Icers stay undefeated, top Pitt
The Icers continued their undefeated season Sunday afternoon against the Pittsburgh Panthers with a 5-1 victory.
Sophmore forward Bryce Johnson led the Icers with two goals in the first period.
Nate Jensen found the back of the net midway through the second period to give the Icers a 3-0 lead.
Forrest Dell and Dominic Morrone then added insurance goals in the third period.
Pittsburgh did break through in the third period for its lone goal when Brandon Pratt scored.
The Icers dominated the shots on goal and applied constant pressure by outshooting the Panthers 55-17.
It was the second win of the weekend for the Icers, who were in action for the second time in less than 24 hours. They defeated the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils 5-4 on Saturday night.
The Icers will be back in action next weekend on Friday against West Chester and Saturday against Delaware.
