Nebraska and Illinois: It was too difficult to choose who had a better week between the Cornhuskers and the Illini, because both teams had good starts to the Big Ten season. Nebraska and Illinois beat a top-10 opponent, went 2-0 and moved up in this week’s AVCA coaches poll last week. In its first ever Big Ten match, Nebraska beat Penn State and followed it up with a win over Ohio State. Not to be outdone, the Illini defeated Minnesota and Wisconsin and thanks to losses from Stanford and California, Illinois is now the No. 1 team in the country.
