Penn State women's soccer team enters rankings
The Penn State women’s soccer team finally entered the NSCAA rankings Tuesday after weeks of successful play.
The team’s winning record of 6-2-0 pushed the team to No. 21 in the NSCAA rankings after earning numerous votes over the past couple weeks. The Nittany Lions are also ranked No. 20 in the SoccerTimes.com Poll, No. 16 by Soccer America, and No. 19 by TopDrawerSoccer.com
Penn State is now the highest ranked Big Ten team in front of Illinois (No. 23) and Ohio State (No. 25).
Even after winning the Big Ten title in 2010, the team was left out of the rankings until now. The women’s recent win over No. 7 Virginia on Sunday may have triggered the voters’ interest.
