Arrrr Matey

No cannons, frilly hats or skull flags here. No captain or crew. No parlay. And as sexy as Johnny Depp was as Capt. Jack Sparrow, these pirates don't even come close to meeting those requirements.
Instead, these pirates play by their own modern rules as they hold ships hostage in the Indian Ocean.
There's no treasure map to what they're seeking, but there is a Google map, complete with skulls to show where the most recent attacks have been, mostly off the Somalian coast.
Now, NATO is sending in its ships to help as the pirate themselves are reducing their ransom.
Potential new career choice: Pirate Spokesman. Yup, that's what the Associated Press is citing as the title of one Sugule Ali, pirate spokesman, who talked to the AP via satellite phone saying, "We are open for give-and-take negotiations."

The Anti-Shark?

Scientists have confirmed a second case of a pup being born without any male shark involved in the process -- essentially a virgin birth.

The two cases, involving aquarium sharks, puzzle scientists who are hypothesizing that female sharks are capable of virgin births when the population density decreases to a certain level and no mates can be found.

However, the pups born from only one set of DNA have an increased risk of cognitive malformations.

This all reminds me of the scene in Finding Nemo, where Bruce, the Great White shark, says.
