DaeSean Hamilton commits to Penn State
Wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton of Mountain View High School (Va.) has verbally committed to Penn State after an official visit this weekend, according to The Free Lance-Star (Fredericksburg, Va.).
Hamilton, a three-star recruit according to scouting websites Rivals.com and Scout.com, has received scholarship offers from 12 different programs, including Miami, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Wake Forest — he also paid an official visit to the latter two.
Hamilton reeled in 64 catches for 1,073 yards in 2012. The Free Lance-Star reported that Penn State wide receivers coach Stan Hixon offered him a scholarship on Sept. 7 after watching him play.
Hamilton is currently recovering from a collar bone injury, according to The Free Lance-Star.
Hamilton was the fourth recruit to commit to Penn State on Sunday in addition to linebacker Zayd Issah, linebacker Jonathan Walton and defensive back Anthony Smith. Hamilton is the 17th overall commit for Penn State’s 2012 class.
