O'Brien named finalist for Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year
Bill O'Brien has been named a finalist for Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year.
The following coaches are also finalists for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year: Brian Kelly of Notre Dame, Urban Meyer of Ohio State, Jim Mora, Jr. of UCLA, Mark Richt of Georgia, Nick Saban of Alabama, Bill Snyder of Kansas State, Charlie Strong of Louisville, Kevin Sumlin of Texas A&M and Dabo Swinney of Clemson.
Fans can vote for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year by visiting their website or tweeting it. The fan vote accounts for 20 percent of the final decision, the College Football Hall of Fame for 55 percent and the media for 25 percent.
The winners will be announced the morning of the BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 7.
The New England-native also nears another coaching accolade, as the Football Writer's Association of America pegged him as a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award on Monday. O'Brien is also on the Watch List for Bear Bryant National Coach of the Year. He has already won Big Ten Coach of the Year.
