Penn State players to participate in "Rise and Rally Bowl"

The organizers of Rise and Rally are joining forces with Fight On State to put together a "bowl-like celebration" for the 2012 senior class.

In lieu of a bowl game, the 2012 seniors have been invited to the "Rise and Rally Bowl" in Atlantic City, N.J., from Jan. 5-8. The festivities will consist of "three days of film and autograph sessions, rallies, presentations, and party after party," concluding with "a giant tailgate-themed event in the House of Blues concert hall," according to a press release issued by Rise and Rally.

“The senior class, we’re all very excited about it,” senior fullback Michael Zordich added in the press release. "This is going to be a great opportunity for us to get out there and see all the fans … [and to] have a good time — just kind of mix and mingle and be ourselves.”

Penn State Letterman Club President Tim Sweeney said Rise and Rally will cover the cost of rooms and meals for Penn State seniors "who have exhausted their football eligibility." The organization's website states that all other Penn State football players are not permitted to attend.

Former players Daryll Clark, Derrick Williams, Trey Bauer and Aaron Maybin are also scheduled to attend the event.

Fans can purchase tickets to the event on Rise and Rally's website, Riseandrally.com. Portions of the package will help cover the expense for seniors to attend.
