Halftime: Penn State leads Indiana, 28-13
Allen Robinson lost a yard on his catch to break Penn State's single season reception record, but his three subsequent touchdown receptions certainly compensated.
Penn State went into the locker room with a 28-13 lead over Indiana at halftime. Robinson reeled in a 26-yard touchdown grab over an Indiana defender in the first quarter. The play came on a 4th-and-3.
Robinson's second time in the endzone came in the second quarter. McGloin threw him a short pass around midfield, and Robinson spun away from a tackle and broke away from Indiana's defensive backs.
Robinson's final six points came from inside the red zone on a 10-yard reception.
When McGloin wasn't busy finding Robinson through the air, he was handing the ball off to running back Zach Zwinak. The redshirt sophomore is on pace for 30 carries and 180 yards.
However, the Lions' defense didn't play like the top-ranked first half defense in the nation. Indiana managed to score 13 points, led by quarterback Cameron Coffman. Coffman had 210 passing yards in Indiana's no huddle defense.
Both defenses had an interception that led to points. Hodges nabbed Penn State's after stepping out of the game a few minutes earlier due to an injury. He initially batted down the pass, and dove forward to catch it before the ball hit the ground. Zwinak capped the drive off with a 16-yard touchdown reception.
Penn State's lead was dampened by an apparently serious injury to linebacker Michael Mauti. On the wrong end of what looked like an Indiana chop block, Mauti went to the ground clutching his left knee in the first quarter. After several minutes, he got up, but could not put any weight on his left leg. Trainers carted Mauti into the locker, and the senior linebacker did not return.
