Senior linebacker Michael Mauti and redshirt freshman defensive end Deion Barnes both earned Big Ten weekly honors following their efforts against Navy on Saturday.
Mauti earned the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award after recording 12 tackles. It was his fifth career game with 10 tackles or more. The linebacker had two tackles for a loss, including a sack, which put the Midshipmen back 21 yards, and is now third in the conference with 33 tackles.
Barnes was announced the Co-freshman of the Week in the conference after notching a career-high five tackles. The defensive end forced a fumble for the second straight game, tying him for first in the conference with two.
