Dates for 2013 Blue-White Weekend announced

The dates for next year's Blue-White Weekend have been set.

The three-day event will take place from April 19-21 in 2013 with the annual Blue-White game scheduled for Saturday, April 20.

An estimated 60,000 fans attended the 2012 Blue-White game, which took place on April 21.

Penn State's spring scrimmage typically draws a good-sized crowd. The 2012 Blue-White game was the third-most attended spring game in the nation, and at least 70,000 people filled the seats at Beaver Stadium for the Blue-White game from 2007-09 with a record crowd of 76,500 in 2009.

This year's Blue-White game was Bill O'Brien's Beaver Stadium coaching debut and the scrimmage pitted the Nittany Lion offense against the defense. It featured a non-traditional scoring system and the defense ended up edging the offense.

Penn State's season-opener for the 2012 season is a little more than 14 weeks away, as the Lions begin the O'Brien era when Ohio visits Beaver Stadium on Sept. 1.
