Penn State and Virginia set to clash on ABC
Penn State's Sept. 8 game at Virginia will be broadcast at noon on ABC, the school announced Thursday.
The contest is the Lions' second of the season and first road game. The Lions won a 35-14 decision in Beaver Stadium the last time the two teams met in 2002. All-time, Penn State holds a 5-2 edge over the Cavaliers.
Virginia is coming off an 8-5 season that ended with a 43-24 loss at the hands of Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. It is one of two major conference teams that Penn State will play in their non-conference schedule this season along with Temple, which will re-join the Big East in 2012.
This is the fourth announced starting time for a Penn State game this season. It joins the Homecoming game against Northwestern on Oct. 6, set to kick at noon, as well as a home game against Ohio State on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. and a road clash with Iowa at 8 p.m.
