If Saturday's Blue-White game was any indication of what is to come this fall, the Penn State football team will be putting up some big numbers next season.

A number of Penn State football players were missing in action Saturday at the Blue-White game because of injury, but some were out of the annual football scrimmage because of poor performance in the classroom.

At least for now, Matt Senneca can put his critics to bed.

Although the protest aimed at educating the Penn State community of the growing racial tension on campus and asking Penn State administration to provide a better setting for diversity, many football players, initially, didn't understand what was happening.

With a new quarterback, three new coaches and a Penn State football team coming off a 5-7 campaign, tomorrow afternoon's Blue-White game should be interesting.

Amidst the struggles of the Penn State football team last season was the wretched play of the offensive line.

After a 2000 season that was anything but consistent, Penn State's core of wide receivers faces a challenge — showing it can get the job done in high-pressure situations. The same types of situations the players found themselves in last year time and time again.

As the final seconds ticked off the Alamodome scoreboard in Penn State's unexpected 24-0 thrashing of Texas A&M in last year's Alamo Bowl, Jerry Sandusky was swept away for the ride of his life.

Penn State quarterback Rashard Casey will file a lawsuit against the Hoboken, N.J., Police Department, exactly one month after a grand jury decide not to indict him on an aggravated assault charge brought up by the force.

Up until now, Matt Senneca has lived a low-profile lifestyle.

Penn State played its version of a bowl game Saturday against Michigan State.

For one day, anyway, everything was happy once again in Happy Valley.

The Wolverines, as expected, defeated Penn State 33-11 in front of 100,000-plus fans as Michigan continues its hope for a possible Rose Bowl bid.

Sixty minutes wasn't enough. Penn State and Iowa both participated in their schools first overtime games, with Iowa finally coming out the victor, 26-23, ending Penn State's bowl hopes.

Ryan Primanti made a 39-yard field goal with 18 seconds remaining to continue his perfect kicking mark and Penn State's bowl aspirations as the Nittany Lions overcame Indiana, 27-24, Saturday night in the RCA Dome.

Behind the running and passing of senior quarterback Rashard Casey, the Nittany Lions defeated the Fighting Illini 39-25 to earn their second straight home victory and keep their dimming hopes for a bowl bid alive.

The Nittany Lions' 25-16 loss to Minnesota Saturday at the Metrodome wasn't caused by one, severe blow. Rather, it was Penn State's immediate and frequent mistakes that caused the steady, painful pounding.

The Penn State defense held Drew Brees in check as the Lions defeated the No. 19 Boilermakers, 22-20, in front of 96,023 fans.

If this had been a game of symbolism, Ohio State's second drive could serve as a painful representation of Penn State's season thus far.

Penn State dropped its third game out of four this season, 12-0 to Pittsburgh earlier today at Three Rivers Stadium.

After losing its first two games, the Penn State football team came back in high fashion today to defeat Louisiana Tech, 67-7.

The Nittany Lions fell to the Rockets 24-6 in front of 94,296 fans at Beaver Stadium. It marks only the third time the Lions have started 0-2 in Joe Paterno's 35-year tenure as head coach.

The last time Penn State and Southern California met, it was in the Kickoff Classic and one team routed the other, 24-7, courtesy of a dominant tailback.
