Steve Caouette to offer comedy show at PSU

Film and voiceover actor, comedian and impressionist Steve Caouette — who has appeared in movies such as “The Boondock Saints” and “The Preacher’s Wife” — will give his fans a chance to see him this weekend when he performs at 10 tonight in Heritage Hall.

This is not Caouette’s first time performing at University Park.

The Student Programming Association LateNight has booked him frequently over the past few years, due to the positive feedback students have been giving, said Corey Jackson, SPA LateNight committee chair.

“What SPA enjoys about his act is that it is built entirely around the audience, which is why we enjoy bringing him back again and again,” Jackson (senior-mechanical engineering) said. “Because of this crowd interaction, each performance is unique and always receives good feedback from students that attend.”

The audience frequently becomes part of the show when this master of sound and impression asks for recommendations of what sounds to recreate.

The more bizarre the request, the funnier it gets, according to Caouette’s booking agency, Neon Entertainment’s website. Megan Mansell, SPA marketing chair, said that she and the members of SPA are very excited for Steve to come back and perform again.

“Steve Caouette was really great last year. What really stood out to me were the impressions he did. I really hope he does them again this time,” Mansell (senior-public relations) said. “We only bring back acts we think were great and could do even better in the future.”
