At 7:30 a.m. this morning, the Bryce Jordan Center announced via press release that Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band will be coming to Penn State.
This is the first time Bob Seger will play at the BJC and the performance is set for Thursday, May 2. It will be the band’s first stop on its "Rock and Roll Never Forgets 2013 Tour," according to the BJC press release.
After stints with several other bands, Seger formed The Silver Bullet Band in 1974. In April 1976, the band saw a major commercial breakthrough with its album “Live Bullet.”
With more than five decades of being in the music industry, Seger continues to play his music. In 2004, he gained national recognition for his sound when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
His music is very Americana and “a plain spoken testament to the dignity, hopes and aspirations of ordinary working people,” according to the release.
Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9 and are $75. They can be purchased at the Bryce Jordan Center and online on Ticketmaster.com.
