An airplane made an emergency landing at the University Park Airport this evening when smoke was seen in the cabin of a plane headed to LaGuardia Airport in New York City, Jim Alles, direct digital control specialist for the Office of Physical Plant, said via email.
The plane made a safe landing at the airport, where it was then evacuated and the batteries were disconnected, Alles said. Sixteen people were aboard the flight and there were no reported injuries, Alles said.
The flight was coming from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Alles said.
