Male falls down stairs, breaks window of restaurant

A male fell down a set of stairs and crashed into the railing and window of India Pavilion, 222 E. Calder Way, at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, owner Baljinder Dadra said.

The male was injured in the fall and taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for lacerations above his right eye, the State College Police Department said.

The incident damaged the railing outside the store and the window was completely shattered, Dadra said.

Dadra said he will likely not press charges against the man because police said the man was willing to pay for the damages. Dadra also said he has not received an estimate for the damages but that it's likely upward of $1,000.

While the restaurant is open its regular hours this State Patty's Day, he has seen less business than usual, likely because people think the restaurant is under some kind of construction with the window boarded up, Dadra said.
