The firm Isaacson, Miller, has been selected to assist Penn State in finding its 18th president, who will replace current President Rodney Erickson when he retires on or before Jun. 30, 2014, according to a Penn State News press release.
Isaacson, Miller is an executive search firm with offices in Boston, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco that has conducted searches for presidents in University of Pennsylvania, Brown University and other university and colleges in the country, according to the release.
To find out what qualifications and characteristics are needed Penn States next president, the firm will start by reaching out to the university community using surveys, public meetings and focus groups, the release said.
The 13-member Trustee Presidential Selection Council along with the Presidential Search and Screen Committee consisting of 18 members from the Penn State community conducts the search for the president, according to the release.
