The full house at the Bryce Jordan Center may not have been "high on summertime," but it was surely feeling enthusiastic for country superstar Luke Bryan, who came from his "dirt road" all the way to snowy State College on Friday night.
At 7:30, the lights dimmed as simultaneously the screams of fans overwhelmed the sold out Bryce Jordan Center when opening act Florida Georgia Line took the stage, followed by Thompson Square.
However, the noise filling the venue during the theatrical performances from both opening acts did not compare to the cheers from the audience as Luke Bryan took the stage, and showed country girls how to really shake it. Throughout an almost two-hour straight vocal performance, Bryan danced all around stage, stealing the hearts of his audience members.
"I thought the entire show was absolutely amazing, and he is so talented," Kelsie Kautz (freshman-electrical engineering) said. "However, it was his dancing that truly melted my heart. He was like a modern day Elvis."
Bryan performed several of his platinum hits, including his latest, "Drunk on You," along with "Country Girl (Shake It For Me) and "I Don't Want this Night to End,", all from his 2011 album "Tailgates & Tanlines."
At the show's end, Bryan thanked the audience, stating that he knows how hard people work, and he knows how expensive tickets can be. He said he couldn't be happier that this show was sold out, and what it means to him to actually be able to do this for a living.
