Discontinue Peachy Paterno ice cream at Berkey Creamery

Penn State did the appropriate and necessary thing in removing the statue of Joe Paterno. The ice cream flavor honoring him also needs to be discontinued. If Paterno was fired for failing to report child sexual abuse and poor leadership and was later thought by the university to have been instrumental in covering up sexual abuse, there is no justification to continue honoring him so publicly. There are efforts to remove the NCAA sanctions from this scandal.

If Penn State is trying to demonstrate that it is reassessing and changing the dominance of football over the institution, it is hardly credible if it continues to serve an ice cream flavor named for Paterno out of fear of that football culture.
