Police have identified a person of interest in the Jan. 9 armed robbery of Kranich’s Jewelers, 216 E. College Ave., in downtown State College, according to a media release issued by the State College Police Department on Wednesday.
The State College Police Department, in conjunction with the Philadelphia office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, identified the person of interest after the person was arrested for robbing a jewelry store in another state, according to the release. The person of interest is now in custody, according to the release.
The State College Police Department said no other details are available at this time.
Three men entered Kranich’s Jewelers at about 10:20 a.m. on Jan. 9 and stole an undetermined amount of jewelry and a ring, watch and wallet of one employee before fleeing the store, police said.
One of the men held a gun to the head of one of the store’s employees, as previously reported. No employees were injured during the robbery, police said.
