A wintry mix of snow and ice is expected to hit the State College area at about 4 a.m. Monday, according to a press release issued via Penn State Live.
While the icy mix is expected in the morning hours, forecasts predict rising temperatures beginning mid-morning and improving throughout the day Monday, according to the release. The preemptive salting and clearing of roads and sidewalks should allow operations to continue as scheduled, according to the release.
If there is a change in the timing or path of the expected precipitation, students and employees can learn of the changes by checking WPSU-FM and Penn State Live. The alerts will also be sent to cell phones, emails, the Penn State Facebook page and Twitter, via PSUTXT, according to the release.
Should the weather cause university cancelations, employees who perform essential duties should still report as normal. Employees performing nonessential services should not report during the duration of the cancelation.
