The regularly-scheduled Council of Commonwealth Student Governments council weekend has been canceled due to inclement weather.
CCSG President Ben Clark said the decision to cancel was made at 11 this morning. Clark said he and Chandra Ulinfun, CCSG Vice President, checked the weather radar and discussed the decision with the CCSG executive board and advisers.
Clark (senior-accounting) said the decision to close was also influenced by the Commonwealth campus student leaders.
He said that many student leaders across the Commonwealth called the executive board to say they would not be attending the conference.
CCSG holds several council weekends over the course of the year.
“We will probably not reschedule,” Clark said in regards to this weekend’s meeting.
He said it was difficult to reschedule because many of the Commonwealth campuses plan their activities and schedules around council weekend.
However, Clark said the executive board is talking to the Commonwealth campus student leaders to see if there is a possibility of a rescheduled meeting.
Although there will not be a meeting this weekend, Clark did say the executive board held a phone conference with Commonwealth campus student leaders today to discuss CCSG business.
The next regularly scheduled council weekend is March 15-16.
