Library to hold seminar about central Africa

Professor Lee Ann De Reus and her daughter Arianna De Reus will hold a seminar titled “Indigenous Knowledge That Inspires: Lessons From Research and Praxis in Central Africa,” at noon today in the Foster Auditorium in Paterno Library.

They will discuss issues that affect Central Africa, such as prosecution or forgiveness among rape survivors in the Democratic Republic of Congo; how teachers and youth inspire collaborative entrepreneurial initiatives in Rwanda; and how innovative farming practices in Kenya can be incorporated into a Penn State greenhouse design.

The De Reus's have worked in Central Africa for seven years. The seminar is free and open to the public.
