Updated April 11, 2013: The citation against Deron Thompson was dismissed on March 11, 2013, according to court documents.
A Penn State football player who was cited at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday at Nittany Apartments for underage drinking will face disciplinary action, Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Jeff Nelson said.
Deron Thompson, 20, of Lititz, Pa., is listed as a running back on the Penn State Athletics website.
Nelson said the football coaches are aware of the situation and any sort of disciplinary action will be handled internally with the team.
Derrick Shields, 20, of Lititz, Pa., and Victoria Kramer, 19, of Lititz, Pa., were also cited for the same offense during the same incident Thompson was involved with.
An unconscious female was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center from the apartment, police said. Police could not identify the female.
Thompson was a redshirt freshman during the 2012 football season.
