The State College Borough Council will continue to discuss its 2013 budget at a work session tonight with the possibility of withdrawing from a COG Code Program, which inspects rental buildings.
Council member Peter Morris said the council is in a hurry to decide whether or not to withdraw from the program because it needs to alert the COG one year in advance.
Morris said some council members believe the borough could do a better job in inspecting buildings.
However, he said there are side issues involved in withdrawing from the program, such as possibly damaging relationships with other townships.
Mayor Elizabeth Goreham said this will be the last time to discuss the budget before next week's vote, but doesn't expect any major conflicts to be brought up at the meeting.
She said council expects to discuss the remaining questions that need to be answered about remaining sections and loose ends of the budget.
She expects the budget to pass 'smoothly' during the voting meeting next week.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at 243 S. Allen Street.
