Penn State Police investigating rape

Penn State Police are investigating a rape that occurred in the Pollock/ South Halls area sometime between 11 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. today, according to a press release issued via Penn State Live.

The person who was assaulted knew the person who assaulted them, according to the release. The person identified in connection with the incident is a Penn State student, according to the release.

The genders of the people involved are unknown. As of 1 p.m. Saturday, police said there was no new information to report with regard to the incident.

The incident is the 12th sexual assault reported in the State College area since Aug. 27.
