Man pulls knife in Bellefonte in attempt to gain painkillers

A man was arrested Saturday night after police said he pulled a knife on a Bellefonte pharmacist earlier that morning and demanded painkillers, the Bellefonte Police Department said.

Mark A. Davis, 27, of Bellefonte, faces charges of robbery, simple assault and making terroristic threats after his attempt to gain the painkillers Dilaudid and Roxicet from the Parrish Apothecary Shop in Bellefonte, police said.

He then fled on foot and was later apprehended by police Saturday night.

Davis was arraigned and is being held at the Centre County Correctional Facility on $75,000 straight bail, according to court documents.

His preliminary hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Davis is also facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance in October and is awaiting a preliminary hearing in December regarding those charges, according to court documents.
