The State College Borough Council will hold a combined regular meeting and work session at tonight's meeting, which will focus on reviewing the 2013 budget.
Mayor Elizabeth Goreham said she doesn’t expect anything major to change during the meeting, but is looking forward to the budget review.
The budget will include updates on pensions, occupancy, the general funds and budgetary policies, she said.
The focus of the budget that will be discussed during Monday’s work session will be general fund reviews, budgetary policies, debt management and service and capital improvements for the borough, according to the meeting agenda.
Borough Manager Tom Fountaine said that he is not sure what kinds of questions or comments the council will have, but expects three or four more work sessions until the budget is to be voted on Dec. 17.
Council President Don Hahn said if there are to be any changes made to the budget, the work session will give council an opportunity to review and ask questions.
“If any, the significant changes to the budget would be occurring in December,” he said.
Hahn said he and council want to handle the work session like a committee meeting, giving members a fair chance to ask questions and to get to know the budget better.
The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the State College Municipal building, located at 243 S. Allen St.
